For my coursework my aims was to produce a professionally designed two magazine covers and a double spread page which could compete with similar existing products in the market currently. My magazine is aiming to break into the seasonal fashion/woman's magazine genre and is going to be in competition with magazines such as Vogue and Marie Claire. The title of my magazine is called 'Fashion Time' the title of the magazine is important as it signifies what the magazine is about and who it is aimed at. This title fits my market for the age range of 16 to 25 that are interested in fashion. 'Fashion Time' signifies youth, self value, confidence and look's. It's like Vogue but it aims at a younger professional female market. Fashion Time mean can have different meanings depending on the person that is reading it. I came up with this idea by just going with the simple root of what i am trying to persuade people to buy and how eye-catching it is, this is my main objective. Trapping people to be hooked to the magazine as soon as they see it.

My magazine is going to be appealing to the readers of magazine's such as Vogue and Marie Claire, i'm going to do this by making my magazine much more fashion forward, and risky. As youth culture at the moment promotes the celebrity lifestyle, going to parties and living a nice lifestyle, the young middle class woman will have the disposable income to buy the items that are being featured in the magazine and will want to feel like they fit into this image. I put two of my friends on the front covers of my magazine as i believe that they look persuading because of the way they know the angle of the camera. As well as, that they are very similar to the actual girls that read theses kind's of magazines but i wanted to break away from the stereotypical image of women, and i am going to produce  a magazine for real young women in our society and this will be evident. Before i started deciding what my magazine was going to be like, i carried out research. I looked at a variety of different magazines that exist already that are well known to the the public, such as, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Vogue, Elle, and Heat. I looked at how the models dressed, what their facial expressions were and kind of attitude that they were conveying on the magazines.

I took the cover image myself on my my personal digital camera. I encountered a few problems whilst making my magazine such as the fact i didn't really know how to properly use Photoshop because i didn't need to use. But, then in my own time i started to understand everything in Photoshop and how it works and what certain tools are to make my magazine better. From creating my magazine i learnt the thought process you have to go through to get the final outcome from everything you have done, through the process i learnt what worked that was best for me and what didn't work as well, and what would appeal to my audience that i chose in the content and visuals. I achieved my aims of creating a magazine that would be the next big thing to young women, it stands out from the rest of the magazines, and i am happy about the products outcome. If i could improve it, i would try to make the image of the summer magazine more clear instead of fuzzy, but i would also like to create more magazines since i actually found it quite enjoyable while doing it, it opened my mind more to create something that i wouldn't think of creating.
