Are music videos still important in today's society?

Throughout the essay i am going to discuss the current topic that everyone is thinking about today. Are music videos still relevant or not? In my opinion, i am going to write two different sides of the argument of 'Why it is important?' and 'Why it isn't important?'. In my opinion, i believe that a video can be good or bad, a bad video can make the song sound negative to the viewers, but if it is a good video it can make people have a positive view on the music, which will allow the music to be catchy to many people and become a popular song.

The reason why we should consider that music videos are an important aspect of society today is because, it helps people to understand the whole concept by consuming them into watching the music video and what is happening. They have created some of today's trends and challenges and if we didn't have the videos what people do now, half of it would not even exists, like the dances moves and the fashion ideas that people follow. As well as, finding some knew talent that you would never really find on the streets and have given them opportunities to show their talent to the world. A video links the viewers with the artist as a way of connecting to what they like and create a song that may have a sense of meaning to them when listening. For example, Pharrell Williams 'Freedom' music video shows hidden content that is a part of the music to let the audience understand the whole concept of what he is trying to explain to all people that are listening to the song. In some way's music videos have become more important in this society because it shows a narrative of what the music is about. Music videos are an art form and they are as important even more now than a few years ago. They are a part of the viewers visual language. An artist needs a video as a way of becoming more noticeable to society. Which would make them have to provide a creative visual to give them a leverage in the music industry because of how every artist is competing to get to the top. For example, Billie Eilish is a musician who creates an impression on her music with visuals which make it more powerful than other artists videos. A music video is meant to attract the viewers to want to listen to the song. Like PSY - 'Gangnam style' it has been out for a while and people still love the video and the song because it is so catchy and a fun, enjoyable song that everyone will like. Which is why it is still popular now, which is what many artists are trying to achieve.

Whereas, many people believe that music videos are becoming less important in today's society. In my opinion, i feel that shorter content grabs mt attention more because it's not long, i won't end up getting bored, but then it depends on what the video is about. And that within a short amount of time in music videos they must create more content as well as, making it more interesting. For many teens that watch a video for a certain amount of time. Having music videos makes it harder for people to be more interested in the actual song than the video, which is why many people never know what the song is about because they aren't listening to it. It's just a way of distracting the viewers. Music videos are now becoming uncreative and are copying other artists videos because they can't think of anything knew to come up with even using similar props and costumes as well. So, overtime everyone will just end up having the same videos but with a few altercations, which make people uninterested in what the video is about.

Therefore, in conclusion, the most important point is that it is important to have music videos. There will always be videos made even when people don't listen to it. It will just be quicker than how it is now because people find them too long because of the shortening of people's attention spans. Most people remember the video's more than the actual song because it draws their attention the most. It has become as important as the production of it just for the way we now absorb the music we listen to. Music video will always develop to people's peripheral to make profit. But, also as a way of praising the people that have worked hard to produce it and direct it. Having a music video is important because it is a focus point which draws the attention of the viewers. It will just get more advanced and adapt to the generations so it catches their attention, but i feel it will also end up on social medias even more than it is now, as a way of getting even more people to concentrate and be more interested in both the song and the video.
